T'is no wonder they call it work. Through toil comes daily loot - some sort of divine quirk. "Vanity of vanities, all is vanity". Nothing I do lasts, distorted sanity hidden behind masks. "You shall reap what you sow" - now that's a laugh. Little does one know the graft and gaffe.

This came from the poem-a-day challenged for the month of April by Writer's Digest. The prompt was to write about work. "Work" has always been a sore spot for me. I have yet to find a job that uses what I am best at, but (since I'm only a few years from retirement age) have come to accept that 'it is what it is'. I apologize that I have not been very active here for a while and pop in and out with minimal interaction. I appreciate the fact that people comment even when I have not been able to repond with thanks to their comments. In a previous post you had asked how the house was doing. I'm putting in trim and base boards right now, I've been staining and putting on poly for almost 2 weeks now. I hope to get to actually installing the trim and baseboards this weekend. I'm running out of time and things take longer than expected and life always has its interruptions. But, I'm getting there. (Only a couple months more of this rat-race, I hope). The reason I decided to post at the poem-a-day challenge was because they will be selecting poems for an ebook. I wanted to see if I might get something published after 37 years of writing. Again, to you and all, thanks. This is a good site. You do much to keep it that way. Wayne (WID)
