I could hear each bubble popping
as she released them in the breeze.
Some of her magic bubbles had
burst upon my knees.
They were cool upon implosion,
with a minty menthol feel.
My legs began to twitch
with a feeling so surreal.
Just like a bolt of lightning
strikes a stormy sea,
a sudden sheet of warmness
just washed all over me.
I stood in silence and walked to her,
allowing my cane to retract.
Although I didn't need it,
she didn't know how to react.
She put her little hand in mine,
we walked down near the pond.
She pointed out a moon so full
and the setting sun beyond.
She pointed out some fireflies flirting
with reflections on the stream.
I was so ecstatic,
I could almost scream.
Just like a bolt of lightning
strikes a stormy sea,
a sudden sheet of warmness
just washed all over me.
Everything was so beautiful,
my eyes welled up with tears,
because my legs haven't touched the earth,
nor my eyes haven't seen for years.
